The Model Aviation Association of Canada (MAAC) has just come up with new guidelines and here is a quote regarding Frequency and radio spectrum.:
" There are several measurements, verifications, and proof flights which prove that a 2.4 Ghz analog video transmitter cannot interfere with DSS 2.4 Ghz RC controllers. However , for the safety of the UAV pilot, UAV plane and UAV equipment, the UAV pilots are advised not to use 2.4 Ghz video transmitters because a single 2.4 Ghz radio turned on during the UAV flight can effectively interfere with the video system and blank out the video signal."
So as far as those who are flying UAVs or FPVs in Canada we are given these restrictions along with many others such as the requirement to have a HAM radio license if your video systems output is more than 0.75 milliwatts radiated power and the requirement of having a spotter . Compared to other countries , I think that we are being extremely restricted. However, I think it will just be a matter of time before other countries start using the same restrictions because there is a high potential for a serious accidents to happen in this hobby.
