This controller was put to work in a Excel Competition 3 glider with a HXT D9 2200mAh 3S lipo pack and a HXT 35-42C 1000kv Brushless Outrunner Motor.
The prop is a Aeronaut 11"x7" folding prop.
This setup draws about 38 Amps max. when freshly charged and settles at 33 Amps as the battery discharges. This produces a vertical climbout with the 1500g glider.
The glider still climbs out steadily on a reduced throttle setting which only needs 11 Amps!
The controller stayed only handwarm in all situations. Of course the max current is only needed for 10 secs at a time to climb to a good hight.
Programming with the card or Tx works well.
Aprox. 15 flights were done without any problems. Then the motor cut out after about 3 to 5 secs of full throttle run on a freshly charged battery.
We traced the problem to the cell protector feature. When it was not plugged in the ESC worked fine. To doublecheck, we monitored the individual cell voltages during the power run and they stayed within 0.03 Volts of each other, so the problem was not the battery.
Apart from the not properly working cell protector the ESC seems to be doing a good job.
