פלסטיק זה שם כולל למשפחת חומרים עצומה
הפלסטיק שממנו עשוי ההוריקאן זה חומר הנדסי משובח ביותר, מהרבה בחינות עדיף על אלומיניום וקרבון. כמעט בלתי שביר, חזק מאד, וגמיש בדיוק במידה שהתיכנון ההנדסי מאפשר לו.
למשפחת החומרים האלו קוראים פלסטיק הנדסי, וזה לא אותו חומר כמו במסוקי פלסטיק אחרים.
