Looking For More Power?
LiHV (High Voltage LiPo) batteries have been around for a few years now. They are basically a Lithium Polymer cell with adjusted chemistry to safely allow an end voltage adjustment up to 4.35V per cell.
What is the difference between a LiPo and LiHV cell?
The difference between each cell is not much other than the LiHV being able to charge at a higher end volt. Protek R/C LiHV cells are less prone to puffing and have the same performance charged to the industry standard 4.2v per cell as the older LiPo cells.
Why use LiHV?
The higher end volt that the LiHV cells are capable of will have a significant increase in power and runtime. In my testing, I’ve seen increased capacity between 5% and 10% and 30-50mV/cell higher voltage when charging with LiHV capable chargers!
How do you use LiHV?
You would use the LiHV cells the same as you would with the LiPo cell batteries. You must have a charger that can adjust the end volt to 4.35v per cell or have a LiHV capable charger.
