Hello everybody I'm starting here a thread build of the Y/A F/A-18 Twin "BUG" .....This kit has been on and off my desk in the past 4,5 years and I've decided to bring it to completion ....

enjoy...above is a picture of the full scale and here is a 1/32 scale plastic model that I've built for my purposes the model will be painted according to it..

At this stage the "BUG" is more or less built i.e all formers in the fuse are installed , wings are glassed including fins and stabs. . Also all gear doors are done too.

The wings control surfaces have been altered from the original plans to a state where they more or less have resemblance to the ones on the full size.

Following are some pictures which describe the various parts done. A more spesific picture gallery will follow.Starting with the wings

Seen above are the wings with control surfaces in their advanced preparation stage where the wings have been sheeted and ailerons together with the flaps have been removed from the core , trimmed and boxed also is seen the aileron servo housing been reveiled

Next are pictures of the special offset hinges that were made for the scale actuation of the flaps and ailerons...

The offset hinges are being produced by Dr.Charles Tsee

and can be purchased separately they are not made specially for the F/A-18
back then...(2006~7) today they are used in numerous kits. Observe the different sizes to match the mechanical geometry of movement.
